Welcome to Room 1! We have been busy in our room becoming familiar with our classroom routines and procedures. We are going to have a great year in Room 1!
We have been learning about each other and made Guess Who Books that contain clues about ourselves! We are excited to get to share them at Open House.
We have been working on what is expected and unexpected actions in our classroom and throughout our school setting. We have discussed how doing what is expected, is understanding "hidden rules" in every situation and following them to keep others feeling good about us. Doing what is unexpected is failing to follow those rules, which can make others feel uncomfortable around us. We learned that unexpected, isn't "bad" or doing something wrong but it just isn't in the appropriate environment. For example, running in the hallway is unexpected but running outside at recess is expected. Our class has already done a great job modeling what is expected in our classroom and throughout the building. We are very excited for this school year!
